The Process of Plan Development begins with Planning.
Planning’s first job is to put together the most complete picture possible of “the knowns”, or what is to be assumed. The Organization may make Assumptions about the current state of the Organization and of the environment the Organization is in. Information about the current state of the Organization may include the Organization’s current financial state, trends against previous Planning models, and initiatives or goals the Organization may have. Information about the current state of the environment may include the state of the economy, trends in the industry, and the condition of competitors.
Planning then develops a set of scenarios or possible strategies. These strategies each contain a set of Assumptions and a set of Predictions. An Assumption
